KIEV, Dec. 15 ??“ The development of the nuclear power sector in the context of energy development strategy until 2030 and increasing energy security are among Ukraine's priorities, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Anatoliy Kinakh said.

He said nuclear energy is an important part of the country's energy balance and the energy security strategy. Kinakh said Ukraine's 15 nuclear reactors generate 52% of the country's electricity. At the same time, Ukraine has considerable uranium-ore deposits, "enough to satisfy domestic demand for 100 years."
