KIEV, Aug. 1 – Holtec International (the United States) will finish construction of a waste nuclear fuel storage facility 2 at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant no earlier than November 2016, said Serhiy Bozhko, head of the State Nuclear Regulation Inspectorate.
"Today, the delay in the realization of the project totals 92 weeks and the optimistic term of its realization is November 2016. The supplemental agreement to the contract in force between Chernobyl and Holtec International was signed two weeks ago… I hope that this will not happen, but there is a likelihood that Holtec will declare that the company requires additional funds for the realization of the project due to the delay," he told reporters.
