KIEV, July 11 - Kiev cannot use the money it receives in taxes to pay wages to public sector employees because of the illogical organization of the financial flow management system, Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
"It is an absurd situation when Kievans' money is sent to the State Treasury, and we cannot receive it to finance the city's vital needs because it's already been spent. We have about UAH 60 million not paid timely to Kiev public sector employees. These are about 260,000 employees, who have not very high incomes and who have been left without wages. And we need to immediately pay this money today," Klitschko said in an interview with Interfax on Friday.
