KIEV, July 7 – The International Civil Aviation Organization has confirmed its position and the organization still believes Crimea is part of Ukraine, while the zone of the Black Sea was delegated to Ukraine and it has remained under the management of Ukraine, Denys Antoniuk, head of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine wrote on his Facebook page.
"Colleagues and friends, I've just taken part in an unofficial meeting with representatives of ICAO – Secretary General Raymond Benjamin and Director of the European and North Atlantic ICAO Office Luis Fonseca de Almeida. They confirmed that information spread by Russian mass media that the ICAO supports the idea that air space over Crimea belongs to Russia is groundless, and they confirmed the position of ICAO that Crimea is part of Ukraine," Antoniuk said.
He added that the ICAO fully adheres to the UN resolution on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
