KIEV, July 7 – The assets of Naftogaz Ukrayiny in Crimea are included in the general lawsuit from Ukraine against Russia in regard to annexation of the peninsula, the Ukrainian national oil and gas company's chief, Andriy Kobolev, said at a briefing in Kiev on Friday.
"This issue [lawsuit regarding Crimea] has not been lifted and a lawsuit is being prepared. Naftogaz is part of this process and this process will be launched now. There are some obstacles and some preliminary actions that are to be fulfilled so that the claims have grounds and are substantial," he said.
According to Kobolev, it is currently impossible to tie Naftogaz assets in Crimea with the lawsuit of Russia's Gazprom due to the stance of the Russian company saying Gazprom has nothing to do with the situation at the Crimean peninsula.
