KIEV, July 3 – Losses of goods as a result of separatist looting of the METRO center in Donetsk have been assessed at EUR 1 million, according to METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine Director Klaus Raettig.

He said that the cost and terms of the restoration of the center would depend on the character of damage of the center's infrastructure.

"We can calculate only the losses of the goods that were in the store. The losses amount to around EUR 1 million. The largest losses could be seen from damage of infrastructure, which is impossible to calculate now, such as air conditioning, wiring and water pipeline damage," he said at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for an updated store in Kiev on Wednesday.
