KIEV, June 4 – The State Space Agency of Ukraine (SSAU) has taken up with the Russian Defense Ministry the issue of the return of Ukrainian space equipment in annexed Crimea.
"The SSAU has sent an official letter to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Russian space defense general headquarters, which concerns the issue of returning equipment of the Spacecraft Flight Control Center located on the territory of the National Space Facilities Control and Test Center in Yevpatoria. No response has yet been received. However, we hope that Russia will positively respond to settling the issue: the Defense Ministry and Russian aerospace defense do not require this equipment," SSAU head Yuriy Alekseyev told Interfax-Ukraine.
