KIEV, May 28 – Corruption in the Defense Ministry became possible due to the involvement of commercial structures in state contracts, Acting Prosecutor General Oleh Makhnitsky said.

He said that several possible reasons why the country' defense potential has weakened are being investigated.

"Over the past years this was done purposefully via the realization of corrupt schemes with the purpose of personal enrichment,“ said Makhnitsky.
