MOSCOW, May 26 – Ukraine's membership in NATO will not be on the agenda in the near-term outlook, acting Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Deschytsia says.
"I cannot say whether this issue (non-aligned status) is included in [amendments to] the text of the Constitution or not, but I can definitely say that the issue of Ukraine's membership in NATO won't be on the agenda in the near-term outlook. It is neither foreseen by Ukrainian legislation nor a priority of the government's program," Deschytsia said in an interview with the Nezavisimaya Gazeta newspaper (ng.ru) on Monday.
Negotiations regarding this subject are not being held now, he said.
