BUDAPEST, Dec. 7 - OTP Bank, Hungary's largest bank, said that it is looking for further acquisition opportunities in Ukraine after having lost out in a bid to buy UkrSibbank, the country's fifth-largest bank, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
The Ukrainian government announced late Thursday that it will start talks with BNP Paribas on the sale of a 51% stake in UkrSibbank. The French bank reportedly offered USD 300-350 mln for the stake, beating bids by OTP and big multinationals such as Societe Generale, Commerzbank, Erste Bank and Banca Intesa.
