KIEV, May 14 - Ukraine’s SBU security service on Wednesday began investigation of an explosion near a natural gas pipeline that is moving a bulk of Russian gas supplies to the European Union, local prosecutor office reported.
The blast, which occurred about 30 meters from the pipeline in the Ivano Frankivsk region late Tuesday, did not damage the pipeline, which continues to operate at normal capacity.
“The investigation focuses on establishing people that have been involved in the crime,” the report by the Ivano Frankivsk prosecutor said.
