KIEV, May 13 – Ukraine is able to become energy independent in two years, according to presidential candidate MP Petro Poroshenko.
"Today, we have reverse supplies. If we add the Slovak reverse scheme and Russia will stop supplying gas at all, Ukraine will be able to satisfy gas demand, but we'll be able to become fully energy-independent in two years," he said in the televised debates on the First National television channel late on May 10.
Poroshenko is convinced that in the near term gas will stop being an element of the political influence on all European countries, including Ukraine.
