WASHINGTON, May 12 - U.S. government authorities are providing Ukrainian authorities with financial, technical and non-lethal assistance before the presidential elections, U.S. Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland reported.

"First of all, the United States is providing Ukraine with financial, technical and non-lethal assistance in the moment when the country is preparing for the democratic presidential elections scheduled for May 25 and taking steps to protect the peaceful, secure, prosperous and united future for its people," Nuland said.
