KIEV, April 28 - Ukraine will be able to import up to 8 billion cubic meters of gas annually from Europe via Slovakia following a deal signed on Monday, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said.
“We have just signed a memorandum with the Slovak Republic on cooperation in the energy sector, which provides reverse supply of natural gas from the territory of Slovakia,” Yatseniuk said at a press conference.
He said talks with Slovakia will continue in order to further increase the capacity of the gas supplies.
