KIEV, Dec. 5 ??“ Ukraine and Russia may reach a long-awaited agreement on natural gas prices and transit volumes within days, a senior official at the Russian government told a newspaper on Monday.

The official, whose name was not disclosed, told Rossiyskaya Gazeta, a government newspaper, that the parties have already reached a preliminary agreement, which will be formally approved Tuesday.
