KIEV, April 1 – Ukraine has officially asked Russia via the World Trade Organization to present explanations in detail regarding the reason for the ban on supplies of the products of Roshen Corporation in line with the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade ( TBT Agreement).

According to a statement of Ukraine at a meeting of the WTO committee on technical barriers to trade held on March 19-20 posted on the WTO's Web site, Russia presented answers regarding the reasons of the ban on supplies of Roshen's confectionary products on March 17. Two documents are mentioned as a ground for the ban: Russian law on protection of consumer rights No. 2300-1 and technical regulations of the Customs Union "Food products in part of its labeling." Ukraine asks to specify the document used to apply the ban.
