KIEV, March 31 – The National Bank of Ukraine is working on amendments to the legislative base to allow it to withdraw banking licenses from credit and financial institutions for speculating on the currency market, NBU Governor Stepan Kubiv said.
"Yesterday, I held negotiations at [parliamentary] committees and factions and discussed if the amendments to the law on banks and bank operations regarding the right of the NBU to withdraw licenses after infringements in the form of speculation on the market were supported. I received full support," he told Interfax-Ukraine last week.
