KIEV, March 27 - Ukraine fears the suspension of Russian gas supplies and calls on the European Commission to facilitate the speedy realization of the possibility of gas supply in the country from Slovakia.

This information is contained in a letter of Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan to EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger dated March 24 and posted on the ministry's Web site.
