KIEV, March 26 – The adoption of a draft law on the occupied territories in the current form, which includes the blanket prohibition of economic operations in Crimea, will result in large losses for Ukrainian companies, the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine said in a letter to the chairman of the parliamentary committee for human rights, minority groups and international relations.
"Companies that belong to the Chamber believe that the rapid adoption of the bill [on the occupied territories] is a task of extreme importance. However, the adoption of the law of Georgia on occupied territories, as mentioned in the explanatory note, could result in additional negative consequences, as the economic development and the volume of business transactions on occupied territories in Georgia and Ukraine are incommensurable," reads the letter.
