KIEV, March 18 – Decisions made by Crimean authorities after the so-called 'referendum' could pose serous problems with customs clearance of goods at ports of Crimea, a partner of Kiev's office of Schoenherr international law firm Denys Sytnyk and Head of the Chisinau's office of Schoenherr Vladimir Yurkovsky have told Interfax-Ukraine, comparing the situation in Crimea with the Moldovan Transdniestrian Republic.
"Serious consequences with customs clearance of goods at ports and goods shipped from ports in Crimea could appear. The situation in the Moldovan Transdniestrian Republic is complicated by the fact that it does not have borders with Russia, and goods pass customs clearance at Moldovan customs terminals. In case with Crimea, it is likely that the goods will be registered under Russian law," the lawyers said.
