KIEV, March 6 – The European Union's official bulletin Eur-Lex has published a regulation on freezing assets belonging to 18 Ukrainian citizens suspected of misappropriation of government funds and violating human rights.
The Council of the EU's regulation No. 208/2014 dated March 5, 2014 mentions a total of 18 Ukrainian officials, i.e. former President Viktor Yanukovych, his sons businessman Oleksandr Yanukovych and Verkhovna Rada MP Viktor Yanukovych, former Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko, former Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka and his son, Party of Regions Verkhovna Rada MP Artem Pshonka, former Ukrainian Security Service chiefs Oleksandr Yakymenko and Ihor Kalinin, former deputy presidential chief of staff and presidential adviser Andriy Portnov, former Justice Minister Olena Lukash, former presidential chief of staff Andriy Kliuyev and his brother, businessman parliamentarian Serhiy Kliuyev, former Deputy Interior Minister Viktor Ratushniak, former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and his son, Party of Regions MP Oleksiy Azarov, businessman Serhiy Kurchenko, former Education Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk, and former Health Minister Raisa Bohatyriova.
