BRUSSELS, March 5 - EU countries have no reason to fear disruptions in shipments of Russian gas in connection with the crisis in Ukraine, European Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger told journalists.
"The EU needs Russian gas, and Russia needs payment for this gas. This is important for its [Russia's] economy," he said.
Oettinger said that thanks to a relatively mild winter in Europe there was plenty of gas reserves left.
