KIEV, Jan. 21 – Ukraine is still interested in shale gas production despite the price of Russian natural gas set at $268.5 per 1,000 cubic meters, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said in an interview on the Russian news TV channel Rossiya-24 on Tuesday evening.

"We won't give up shale gas production. $268.5 per 1,000 cubic meters is a competitive price for shale gas. If the price were lower, e.g. $160, it would be an open question," he explained.
