KIEV, Jan. 9 – The fact that Ukrainians deposit their assets in the national currency in bank accounts is evidence that they trust the government's economic policy, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.
"Last year alone, individuals' bank deposits in the national currency grew by almost UAH 70 billion, or 36%. In total, our citizens now store over UAH 434 billion at banks. This is more than the annual revenues of the national budget," the premier said when opening a government meeting in Kiev on Thursday.
Azarov said that such figures "speak for themselves" and are the sign that households unconditionally trust the government's economic policy.
