KIEV, Jan. 2 – The amount of food wasted on every New Year's table in Ukraine is equivalent on average to UAH 199, or 18% of the living wage for 2013, the AgriSurvey agency reported.
According to the report, the monthly food waste, for example, in a British family is much higher, but it reaches only 6% of the living wage in Britain.
"For comparison, such an amount of losses means that the public in Ukraine throws into the bin on average 4.8 kilograms of Russian salad per New Year's table, or 30,100 ton across the country," AgriSurvey Manager for Marketing and Sociological Research Anna Kvit said.
