KIEV, Dec. 19 – The Cabinet of Ministers has prolonged a memorandum of understanding with metallurgical plants signed on February 5, 2013 on beneficial purchases of electricity by electrometallurgical plants for 2014 and expanded the list of companies to Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant and Pobuzhsky Iron Nickel Plant, the Industrial Policy Ministry has reported.
The ministry said that the decision was made by the cabinet on Wednesday.
The ministry said that the memo allowed the resumption of operations of Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Plant, Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant (Luhansk region) and saved around 13,000 jobs at the ferroalloy plants.
