KIEV, Dec. 10 - Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky said he hopes that a mutual understanding would be reached with his Russian partners and that gas contracts would be amended.

"As to gas contracts, I hope that we will find a mutual understanding and that these contracts will be redrafted," Stavytsky said on the Freedom of Speech program on the ICTV television channel.
