KIEV, Dec. 1 – Opposition groups on Sunday warned police against any plans to storm several buildings in downtown Kiev that had been taken over by protesters earlier in the day and that are being used to coordinate the protest.
The warning comes hours after police told the protesters to vacate the premises or face a forceful evacuation by the riot police units.
The protesters broke in and took over the building of the Kiev City Council, which also houses Kiev's mayor’s office, and some other building, including the central office of the Ukrainian trade unions.
