KIEV, Nov. 28 – Ukraine's State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation has decided to extend the service life of reactor one of Yuzhnoukrainsk nuclear power plant for 10 years – until December 2, 2023.
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported that the decision was made by the inspectorate at a meeting on Thursday, November 28, in Kiev.
"The possibility of safe exploitation of reactor one of Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP over the projected service life has been confirmed. Reactor one is in line with the safety requirements," Head of the inspectorate Olena Mykolaichuk said.
