KIEV, Nov. 18 – President Viktor Yanukovych and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have signed a protocol of the fourth meeting of the council of the presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, which outlines the results of the discussion of major issues put on the agenda of Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations, the press service of the Ukrainian president has reported.
The protocol sets out the state and prospects for the development of the political dialog, cooperation in trade, economic and energy sectors, as well as the agreements reached after a meeting of the council of the presidents.
In addition, in the presence of the two presidents the sides signed an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Azerbaijani government on cooperation in the field of plant protection and quarantine, which is designed to facilitate the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in the field of plant protection, ensure the coordination of government phytosanitary measures, provide mutual assistance in this area, as well as exchange the rules and regulations governing respective relevant quarantine measures in the two countries.
