KIEV, Oct. 24 – Head of the Egyptian Tourism Authority Nasser Hamdy has said that that the situation at Egyptian resorts is calm, and has invited Ukrainian tourists to visit them.

He said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday that Ukraine is very important to the Egyptian tourism industry. He said that about 500,000 Ukrainians visited Egypt in 2011 and that in 2012 the figure halved. He said that over 232,000 Ukrainian citizens visited Egypt January through September 2013, which was 9% more than in the same period in 2012.
