KIEV, Nov. 16 ??“ Turkmenistan, Ukraine??™s biggest source of natural gas, has cut supplies by 10% without providing a formal reason and leaving Ukrainian officials scrambling trying to restore the status quo, an official said Wednesday.

The sudden reduction in gas supplies may pose a challenge for Ukraine as colder weather has been forecast to sweep the country within days and to trigger an increased demand for gas.
