KIEV, Oct. 4 – A draft resolution initiated by the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry foreseeing the obligatory transfer of some deals with agricultural products to exchanges violates the principle of freedom of enterprise, the European Business Association said.
The EBA statement says that the consequences of the decision could affect the liberalization of the farming sector and the reduction of pressure by the state on the sector as a whole. The EBA believes that the principles of the said resolution are not in line with either the interests of agricultural producers, processors and exporters, or the interests of the state. The association said that earlier the mechanism for registering contracts on the Agrarian Exchange resulted in losses to farmers, as the signing of contracts foresaw their paid registration. Only the Agrarian Exchange and several private broker companies benefited from this.
