KIEV, Sept. 26 - Ukraine may increase its quota for imports of coking coal next year, according to a proposal prepared by the government, a person familiar with the plan said Thursday.
The plan calls for increasing the quota by 1 million metric tons to 11.2 million mt in 2014 from 10.2 million mt approved for 2013, the person said.
The quota was first introduced by the government in March after repeated complaints from domestic coal mining companies that expanding imports of coking coal force them to shut down capacity.
