KIEV, Sept. 26 - The Foreign Ministry has predicted that if the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU is signed at the Vilnius summit this November, then the document will be ratified in the spring of 2014.
"If the agreement is signed in November, the document will be submitted for ratification by the Verkhovna Rada and, accordingly, for the receipt of respective consent of the European Parliament. We expect that it could happen in the spring of 2014, because the elections for the European Parliament will be held in May 2014," Deputy Director of the EU Department at the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Volodymyr Bachynsky said during a round table entitled "Prospects for the Development of Inter-Regional Cooperation and Integration Processes in Kiev Region" at Kiev Regional State Administration on Wednesday.
He said that the European Commission would be reformatted after the elections for the European Parliament and there would be different MEPs and politicians who would need to study the details of this agreement again.
