KIEV, Sept. 18 - Industrial production in Ukraine shrank by 5.4% in August compared to August 2012, which was worse than in July 2013, when the decline in industrial production was 4.9%, but better than in May and June 2013, when the decline was 5.7% and 9.3%, respectively, the State Statistics Service reported.

In the first eight months of 2013 the decline slowed to 5.2% from 5.3% in the first seven months.

The service also said that industrial production in August 2013 fell by 2.5% compared to July 2013.
