KIEV, Sept. 16 - Ukraine raised electricity exports 8.4% year-on-year in January-August to 6.68 billion kilowatt-hours, a source at the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry told Interfax-Ukraine.
Electricity exports from the Burshtyn Energy Island to Hungary, Slovakia and Romania rose 18.7% to 2.878 billion kWh. Exports to Poland totaled 644.1 million kWh, down 0.4% year-on-year.
Exports of electricity to Central European countries Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Poland as a whole grew 14.7% to 3.523 billion kWh.
