KIEV, Sept. 11 - EIG Engineering by late 2016 plans to build two thermal power plants using wood chips as fuel with capacities of 20 MW each in Dubrovytsia (Rivne region) and Horodne (Chernihiv region), the company's press service has reported.
Investment in the realization of the two projects will total EUR 66 million. Around 100 jobs will be created at each facility.
"Fuel for the thermal power plants will be bought at state-run forestry companies located in a range of up to 150 kilometers from the new facilities… The purchase of non-commercial wood worth UAH 30-40 million every year will considerably increase payments of taxes to the local budgets and boost commodity turnover in the regions," reads the report.
