KIEV, Sept. 9 – Total Ukrainian bank assets, including reserves, grew by 0.5% in August, to UAH 1.351 trillion, while assets alone expanded by 0.5%, to UAH 1.214 trillion.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of the beginning of September the share of loans issued in the structure of the banks' total assets was 62.5% (as of early August 63%) and investment in securities was 9.7% (10.3%).
The banks' capital as of the beginning of September stood at UAH 179.3 billion, or 14.8% of their liabilities (also 14.8% as of the beginning of August 2013). Charter capital as of September 1, 2013 was UAH 179.3 billion, which was 0.4% up over August (by 2.2% since January 1, 2013).
