KIEV, Sept. 4 - Ukraine seeks to let European energy companies store natural gas in its massive underground gas storage facilities as part of the country’s energy sector integration effort, Energy ands Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytskiy said.
Stavytskiy met Guenther Oettinger, EU’s energy commissioner, in Brussels on Tuesday to outline the plan, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry reported Wednesday.
The plan calls for providing up to 15 billion cubic meters of gas storage capacities to the European companies that will be used to stabilize gas prices during high demand season.
