KIEV, Aug. 30 - Ukraine will continue reducing imports of Russian natural gas and increasing imports of gas from elsewhere to diversify the country’s energy supplies, President Viktor Yanukovych said Friday.

“One of the main issues for protecting our national interests and defending our energy independence is the issue of diversification of energy supplies,” Yanukovych said in an interview broadcast by 1+1 television.
