KIEV, Aug. 2 – The surplus of Ukraine's balance of payments in January-June 2013 was $2.18 billion, while in the first half of 2012 there was a deficit of $1.119 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.

According to the report, the deficit of the balance of payments in June this year decreased by 29.8% compared to June 2012, to $1.082 billion.

The negative balance of the current account of the balance of payments in the first half of the year fell by 36% compared to the same period last year, to $3.742 billion: in June 2013 it was $673 million, which is 2.4 times lower than last year.
