MOSCOW, July 30 - A new and closer examination has confirmed suspicions that the products of the Ukrainian confectionery company Roshen are unsafe, Russian consumer protection watchdog Rospotrebnadzor chief Gennady Onishchenko told Interfax on Tuesday.
"We are continuing to examine confectionery products produced by the Roshen firm. Unfortunately, the situation has not changed following additional studies, and the concerns that we aired earlier have been confirmed. Based on these concerns, a decision has been made to ban their imports to Russian territory," he said.
Russia has currently banned imports of products manufactured at Roshen factories in Kiev, Vinnytsia, Mariupol and Kremenchuk, he said.
