KIEV, July 26 – The European Union has expressed its concerns about the fact that Kiev's promise to hold further bilateral consultations is the only result of long consultations with Ukraine on controversial trade issues.
"The Ukrainian side was not in a position to offer a complete solution to any of the EU's concerns. The most promised was that the Ukrainian authorities would continue in the coming period their internal reflections about possible solutions," reads a press release of the EU Delegation to Ukraine summing up the results of the EU-Ukraine discussion of current bilateral trade and economic issues in Kiev.
In particular, the EU criticized Ukraine's recent initiative to introduce a recycling fee for vehicles and its intention to provide financial incentives to consumers linked to the purchase of domestically manufactured vehicles.
