KIEV, July 26 - Supplies of foreign weapons for a new corvette of the Ukrainian Navy, the construction of which has begun at Black Sea Shipyard (Mykolaiv), are expected in 2015-2016, the Defense Ministry reported.

While commenting on the plans announced by the Defense Ministry last year to revise the scheme of cooperation with foreign suppliers of ship weapons in the corvette state targeted defense program, Defense Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Motuzianyk said that the plans for cooperation in the project with leading manufacturers of ship weapons currently remain in place.

"The scheme of cooperation in the project to create a corvette ship as a whole has not been reviewed. The composition of the main samples of armaments and technical equipment, which are to be used to equip the ship, was approved in a technical project in November 2009," he said.
