KIEV, July 25 – The introduction of new excise tax stamps in Ukraine on September 1 will help reduce the amount of illegal excisable produce by 7-10%, Income and Tax Minister Oleksandr Klymenko said at a briefing.
"We are expecting the shadow market to decrease by about 7-10%, and this is additional revenues to the budget. This is a comprehensive step, which will prevent counterfeit products from spreading on the Ukrainian market. Though, of course, only excise stamps are not a panacea in the fight against counterfeiting and smuggling," said the minister.
