KIEV, July 19 - Ukraine's doctor shortage level is currently 18%, the Ministry of Health reported.
"What is the staffing in general in Ukraine? It is 82% of medical posts. The situation with junior health workers is somewhat better - almost 89%," the director of the department for human resources, education and science at the Health Ministry, Mykola Osiychuk, said at a briefing in Kiev.
According to statistics, there are 27.3 doctors per 10,000 people in Ukraine, while the figure in the European Union, according to Osiychuk, is 33 doctors per 10,000 persons.
