KIEV, July 12 – The Infrastructure Ministry under an initiative of Ukrzaliznytsia has decided to increase the price of third- and second-class train tickets in Ukraine by 10% in July and by another 10% in October, which will allow receiving UAH 270 million in 2013 and will partially reduce the unprofitability of passenger transportation and send some funds to the overhaul of wagons.
The tariffs for Intercity+ trains, first class wagons of passenger trains and suburban trains will remain unchanged.
