KIEV, July 11 - Ukraine had every right to impose a special import tax on cars and therefore did not violate any agreements, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky said.
"We supported national producers, so I think that we did not violate anything. And we'll see what sanctions are imposed by some countries. If these are the conditions of a certain agreement, in principle, nothing can be done, and if this is just pressure, this is another matter," he told reporters, while commenting on Thursday on Russia's initiative to introduce additional special duties on Ukrainian coal, glass and chocolate in response to the introduction by Kiev of an import tax on cars.
