KIEV, July 3 – The government has proposed that Parliament increase the excise duties on beer, spirit, alcohol and tobacco by 4.6-11.7% in 2014 under the annual excise duty indexation procedure foreseen in the Tax Code of Ukraine.

The bill drafted by the cabinet was registered in Parliament on June 27.

The document says that the excise duty on beer will be increased from UAH 0.87 per liter to UAH 0.91 per liter, that for spirit – from UAH 49.49 to UAH 51.87 per liter of 100% spirit, fortified wine – from UAH 2.51 to UAH 2.63 per liter, and sparkling wine – from UAH 3.65 to UAH 3.83 per liter.
